Melquiades “MJ” Barin, operations manager of Pasig City-based Information Technology Business Solutions (ITBS), lectures barangay officials, October 14, at the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) conference hall on the “Baguio City In My Pocket” (BCIMP) multi-purpose smart phone app and web portal app that makes “contact-less” government transactions possible.
After a successful trial run in Irisan barangay where thousands of its residents voluntarily registered on the free app, Barin said the program is targeted to roll-out city-wide sometime in November.
If completed, Baguio City will be the first local government unit in the country to adopt the app in its march towards digital governance.-Gaby B. Keith
